The boxing team was placed within the top 10 Schools at the Stubb’s Shield Boxing Tournament 2018. The Captain of the Boxing team, Yohaan Sivaneshan has this to say:

We gave a glorious start to the season when we emerged Runners-up at the LV Jayaweera Boxing Tournament, where Trinity was able to bag three golds and and a bronze medal. Next up in the calendar was the All Island School Games in which the team was able to obtain a gold medal and four bronze medals, which compared to the previous year, is a significant and noteworthy improvement! We hope as a team, we will move from strength to strength, improving on our weaknesses and putting into good use the experience we gained during the past meets into the next few upcoming meets in the calendar, and bring back boxing glory to college, the last of which was tasted in the 80’s.

The Trinity College Boxing team has been making magnificent progress in their skills throughout the year as commented by the captain himself, boxing at Trinity has always been a outstanding sport in the past and we believe the same spirit of the game prevails with the players of the team at present.

A special mention must be made on the guidance and support of the Boxing coaches Mr. Susantha Weerasena, Mr. Lahiru Senarathne, Mr. Manju Wanniarachchi, Mr. Damith Wijerathne, and the master in charge Mr. Aslam Marikar, as well as the dedication and commitment of all the boxing players which brought many achievements into Trinity Boxing. We hope to see more of their excellent performance throughout this year and the next.

  • Today, we remember the cross.

Set within the Chapel, this Crucifixion mural draws us into the stillness of Good Friday, where sacrifice speaks louder than words, and love is laid bare. In its stark imagery, it reflects suffering willingly embraced, and a love that endured to the very end.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son.” — John 3:16

For Trinity and every Trinitian, this is more than a moment in history. It is a call to pause, reflect, and to recognise that true strength is found not in power, but in sacrifice, humility, and grace.
