Is rock painting good for Kindergarteners?
The idea of painting rocks is nothing new. People have been painting rocks for decades.
It works well for tiny paintings and precise art & offers a great activity that is screen-free
and requires very little prep work or supervision. The little minds have the freedom to paint
and create their own art.
Primary school age is a fun stage because they have so much imagination and whilst their
drawing skills are still far from developed children are able to follow simple steps to
complete their art. And they get to learn new age-appropriate artistic techniques too.
If you are looking for a simple outdoor activity for Kindergarteners to engage and learn
through, then rock painting is a must! It’s fun, simple and a cheap activity plus you are in
the great outdoors which we love.

This Idea Rocks!
In this week’s issue students easily attempted everyday things such as flowers, birds, hand prints, fish, lady bugs, fruits & vegetables and cacti for their first-ever rock painting session.
As part of their integrated learning process, the rocks painted by the students were used to beautify their classrooms for the Environment Related Activity lesson “අපයි පාසලයි”.
