Trinity College, Kandy is pleased to congratulate Nahidh Naseem on becoming the National 1st Runner-Up in the ‘Best Innovative Product – School’ category at the Sri Lanka Association for Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) National Ingenuity Awards (SNIA) 2026. In addition to this national achievement, he was also recognised as the Provincial Winner (1st Place) for his project, Vitals.
Vitals is a next-generation healthcare platform designed to improve healthcare accessibility and empower patients through technology. The platform utilises intelligent analytics to support informed decision-making across healthcare services, helping users access and manage healthcare information more effectively.
The Sri Lanka Association for Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) National Ingenuity Awards (SNIA) is one of Sri Lanka’s leading innovation and technology competitions. The awards recognise outstanding innovations from schools, universities, startups, and industry participants, providing a platform for innovators to showcase solutions with real-world impact.
Competing in the ‘Best Innovative Product – School’ category, Nahidh’s project was selected from a highly competitive field. The 2026 awards attracted over 400 applicants and received more than 330 project submissions from across the country. The SNIA Gala Awards Ceremony was held on 16 June 2026 at ITC Ratnadipa, Colombo, where the national winners were recognised for their achievements.
Nahidh’s achievement reflects a growing interest among Trinitians in entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology-driven problem-solving. Increasingly, students are exploring opportunities beyond the traditional classroom, identifying real-world challenges and developing solutions that have the potential to create meaningful impact.
Recognising the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in today’s world, Trinity College has taken proactive steps to cultivate these qualities among its students. Through a growing range of workshops, masterclasses, and industry engagement initiatives, students are encouraged to think creatively, develop practical skills, and explore opportunities beyond the traditional curriculum. Recent programmes have included sessions on 3D printing, LinkedIn profile development, personal branding, and entrepreneurship, providing students with valuable exposure to emerging technologies and professional practices. These efforts aim to equip Trinitians with the confidence and skills needed to transform ideas into meaningful solutions.
Nahidh’s success at SNIA 2026 serves as an encouraging example of what can be achieved when innovation is combined with purpose. His project demonstrates how technology can be applied to address contemporary challenges while creating solutions that benefit wider communities.
