The Trinity College Interact Club visited Sri Vani Tamil Vidyalaya, a rural school located amidst the tea estates of Hanthana, on the 1st of August 2019 with an intention to aid and uplift their current education standards.
A group of four Interactors along with their teacher-in-charge Mrs Agra Ratnayake visited this school, taking along stationery and other educational aids sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kandy.
Trinitians were warmly welcomed by the Principal of the Sri Vani Vidyalaya, Mr Shashitharan, along with other staff members and students of the school.
The Interactors then set to work in grouping the items according to the requirements of each class. This was followed by an assembly where the Principal and a prefect of the school thanked Rotary Club of Kandy and Trinity College for the valuable donations to their school children.
Books and stationery items were then distributed by the Interactors to all the children present at the assembly. The assembly concluded with a speech by the Club’s Staff Advisor and Master Rahul Jeyaram, the Trinity Interact President.
The Trinity Interactors staying true to their motto “Service above Self” did not forget to socialize with the young children of the school sharing their stories of school life. The children of the Sri Vani Tamil Vidyalaya in their turn made sure that their guests were given the best hospitality and enjoyed their short stay at the school.
