‘Suraksha’ Let us protect the children of the nation
A country’s most valuable resource is its children. It is the responsibility of the parents, the entire adult population and the state that the children of a nation are loved and looked after. I am honoured, that in my capacity as the Minister of Education, I am able to implement a national programme introduced to provide insurance coverage to over 4.5 million school students in our country. I believe that through ‘Suraksha’ we can ensure a healthy future generation through the current education system.
The ‘Suraksha’ health insurance programme was given special recognition in the Budget Proposals of 2017. This programme aims at adding value to the current free education system. Whilst it is national policy that all students in the country are given the opportunity of free education, free healthcare insurance to all children is a segment that has received special attention.
In order to prepare students for a better future, the Ministry of Education has introduced a series of special programmes designed to strengthen the current education system. We have realized that by introducing these programmes ranging from the Development of Infrastructure to Development of Human Resources, we have succeeded in modernizing the current curriculum. In order to corroborate future progress, I believe that it is the duty and responsibility of everyone to give their utmost support to the programmes that are currently being conducted by the Ministry.
The ‘Suraksha’ student insurance scheme will not only protect the mental and physical health of our children, but will undoubtedly guarantee a better future for them. With rewards close to 5 lakhs of rupees under the theme Let’s protect the children of our nation, we are proud to assert that this insurance scheme will be available to all students who attend local, private and international schools. We are pleased as a government, to be able to improve and strengthen the health condition of the children of this nation. It is our goal that a child’s healthcare is no longer the financial burden of the parents alone, and that children are provided with sufficient medical benefits.
It is our belief that ‘Suraksha’ will protect the children of our nation!
