The Trinity College Boxing team participated in the TB Jayah Memorial Boxing Championship held from 18th to 21st October 2018 at St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy and emerged champions winning 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.
The team are as follows:
- Kamal Denagama – Gold medal
- Mohammad Luqman ziard – Gold medal
- Hamdan Faizal – Silver medal
- Jagath Varshith – Bronze medal
- Miranga Subasinghe – Bronze medal
- Arya Solomans
- Themiya Herath – Gold medal
The Boxing team of Trinity has been maintaining an excellent year becoming runners-up at the 45th L.V Jayaweera All Island Boxing Tournament 2018 and winning gold and bronze medals at the Stubb’s Shield Boxing Tournament 2018.
While appreciating the winning spirit of the Boxing team players throughout the year, we also thank the Boxing coaches Mr Susantha Weerasena, Mr Lahiru Senarathne, Mr Manju Wanniarachchi, Mr Damith Wijerathne, and the master-in-charge Mr Aslam Marikar for their persistent commitment towards training the boys and developing Boxing to be headlining sport at Trinity.
