The ICT Society of Trinity College, Kandy secured Third Place at GAMEFEST 2026, an inter-school game development competition organised by Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) and held on 24th July 2026. The competition brought together 7 schools from Kandy, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, technical knowledge and problem-solving skills through game development.
Centred on the theme ‘Evolution’, GAMEFEST 2026 challenged participating teams to conceptualise, design and develop an original game while demonstrating innovation, teamwork and technical expertise. The event served as a platform for students to apply their knowledge in a competitive environment and gain practical experience in the game development process.
Representing the ICT Society of Trinity College, Kandy, a team of five students embraced the challenge by developing an original game inspired by the competition theme. From brainstorming ideas and designing gameplay mechanics to programming, testing and refining their final product, the team worked collaboratively to transform their concept into a finished game.

Their efforts were recognised with Third Place, reflecting the team’s dedication, creativity and collaborative spirit throughout the competition. The achievement is a commendable milestone for both the students and the ICT Society, highlighting the growing interest in technology and digital innovation within the College.
Beyond the award, GAMEFEST 2026 provided a valuable learning experience. The competition enabled the students to strengthen their technical skills, develop practical experience in game development and work together to overcome real-world challenges. Their participation reflects the ICT Society’s commitment to encouraging innovation, collaboration and continuous learning among its members.
