Space Time Curvature and Travelable Wormholes have been intriguing concepts for humans for decades. What is more challenging is to make such cosmic phenomena accessible, and to prove their existence.
Space enthusiasts, Masters Dilrukshan Surashkumar, Thehas Dayaratne, Hiranga Suraweera and Chirath Jayasinghe were ready for this challenge.
At Aksha Xplore ‘25 – the annual Astronomy Day hosted by the Astronomical Society of Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Pannipitiya, on 30th of May 2025 – these stellar minds redefined the boundaries of high school presentations. Drawing on Einstein-Rosen bridges and quantum mechanics, they crafted a lucid, awe inspirin exploration of space, distilling intricate theories into relatable, thought-provoking insights.
Their presentation not only deepened the audience’s understanding of astronomy but also connected disciplines like mathematics, physics, and philosophy in profoundly engaging ways.
As they engaged in an intellectual battle of galactic knowledge, the team zipped through the finals like a cosmic bullet train, emerging victorious in the Inter-School Presentation Competition. The audience erupted in cheers as the proud Trinitians ascended the stage. With exceptional presentation skills, confidence, teamwork and creativity, the Trinity College Astronomical team secured the championship of the Inter School Presentation Competition of Akasha Xplore’ 25. Their victory inspires future generations of Trinity’s young astronomers to achieve greatness.
