On 6th of October 2022, the Trinity College Astronomical Society hosted an astronomy seminar for the Upper School students of Trinity College, at the College Main Hall. The guest speaker for the event was Mr. Gabe Gabrielle, a life motivator and a veteran engineer at NASA. Mr. Gabe Gabrielle has been at the Kennedy Space Center as a contractor for NASA as an Engineering Programmer for approximately 17 years, while also being the Former Director of Engineering for the US Air Force Special Operations Command.
The event started at 8.00 am with the arrival of Mr. Gabrielle. After he and the rest of the attendees were welcomed by the Astro committee, Mr. Gabrielle took over the stage and proceeded to deliver an immensely entertaining and enlightening presentation. He shared his thoughts and provided insight on topics such as the latest NASA programs and its future missions, life of the astronauts in the international space station, Mars exploration, space shuttle and the ARTEMIS program, all while focusing on goals, dreams and enjoying life. His lively and highly interactive manner of conveying his thoughts kept the audience captivated throughout the event. The session was concluded with a Q and A session at 11:00 am.
Mr. Gabrielle’s presentation was followed by a brief Q&A session. Then he was presented with the token of appreciation by the executive committee of the astronomical society. Mr. Gabrielle as well as the principal, vice principal and the teacher in charge, along with all the other attendees were thanked for making it possible for this event to be a success. The event’s conclusion was marked after singing the college song followed by the national anthem. The session was concluded with a Q and A session at 11:00 am.
